Winter Co-Ed Softball Tournament

Fundraiser tournament where part of the proceeds will go towards expenses for the Pooler Plantains coed travel team.  Potential raffle or giveaway in the works.

Cash prize to 1st place.  The tournament is formatted as 2 pool play to determine seeding followed by a double elimination tournament.  Tournament format subject to change based on the number of teams.

Each team is allowed 1 male and 1 female band for unlimited HR for $10/band.

SOFTBALL RULES

The below rules override the current SARC rules:

• Pool play games are 45 minutes long and finish the inning
• Bracket games are 1 hour long and finish the inning
• Run rule in effect: 15 after 3, 12 after 4, and 10 after 5.
• Games are 7 male and 3 female format (must add a female for every male exceeding the 7/3 format)
• 1 female in the outfield at all times.  This rule applies even with a "5-man" defense.  Female "5-man" must start in the grass.
• Players must play 1 pool game to be eligible for bracket play.
• NO PICKUPS ALLOWED for bracket play unless approved by director.
• 2 team HR (over the fence) then an out.  Girl home runs count towards this total.
• Band man/woman is the player and not the spot in the lineup
• Band man/woman must be designated at the umpires meeting.
• If the band man/woman is walked, it opens it up to the specific gender on the team until it gets back to that batter. i.e Male band gets walked, it opens it up only for the male hitters in the lineup.
• No more than 3 male batters in a row
• Walk a male in front of a female and the male gets 2nd base automatically.
• Female has the option to hit or walk with only 2 outs in the event the male batter proceeding her was walked.
• Must touch the bases on walks
